  REVIEW:

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, or – as it’s known in some places . . . Ah, Gross!

Kevin James and Adam Sandler star in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. They are best friends and New York City firefighters. Having lost his wife, Kevin is worried about what to do to keep his insurance benefits for his kids. Going through normal channels isn't working, so he comes up with a crazy plan. He and Adam Sandler should "get married" as a domestic couple. All they have to do is keep the whole thing a secret and everything will be fine. When an insurance inspector shows up digging into their relationship, their so-called union becomes public. So of course they become advocates for the gay lifestyle. One complication they didn't plan on though, is the hot chic who's their lawyer, played by Jessica Biel. The big dilemma is whether to keep pretending to be a gay couple or let Adam fall for Jessica and risk loosing the insurance coverage for the kids. Come on...these are guys we're talking about. There's no way Adam can resist Jessica.

Adam Sandler and Kevin James are both great comedic talents, but this movie is like one, long gay joke, which starts to wear on the audience.  Plus, Adam Sandler plays a guy that gets more women as a fireman than Adam Sandler would get as, well, Adam Sandler, making parts of the movie too ridiculous and even a little annoying at times.  But, it’s still good for some laughs, Dan Aykroyd’s actually hilarious as their Captain, and two firemen looking out for each other, no matter what – while still busting each other’s chops – is appealing.  So, for some, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is certainly worthwhile

  MOVIE NIGHT TRAFFIC LIGHT:

On the Movie Night Traffic Light on a scale of GREEN meaning “Go – it’s a must see”, YELLOW meaning “Caution – it’s okay” and RED meaning “No - stop don’t do it."

We rate I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry YELLOW.  Caution – too many of the same gay jokes and way too long of a movie!
